Job Description

The purpose of this newly created role is not to directly manage projects, but rather to build and implement a robust governance framework that all projects can align to. This framework will provide greater consistency, visibility and quality across the project portfolio while enabling improved reporting and oversight for the executive team.

This position will operate at an enterprise level and be responsible for developing a best-in-class project management toolkit encompassing governance, regulatory requirements, approvals, methodologies, processes, procedures, planning frameworks, and project controls.

Project values within this business can extend to approximately $250 million, with typical BAU projects generally falling below $50 million.

While some areas of the business already operate with mature divisional PMO structures, others are less developed. This role will be responsible for reviewing existing frameworks and governance processes, analysing the project lifecycle across the organisation, and identifying opportunities for improvement. The successful candidate will design and implement a fit-for-purpose enterprise PMO framework that can be consistently applied across current and future projects.

This position will suit an individual who has previously established or significantly transformed enterprise-level PMOs. They will come from an environment that is large, complex and runs significant Infrastructure focused projects. Example environments could be transport, energy, civil infrastructure, government, mining, construction, utilities, property, or aged care.
